As the Holiday Season approaches, I am reminded of those who have helped me navigate my journey through life.
Clearly I don't get enough opportunities to personally say "thank you" even though I am thankful every day. Market Activity
January 2011 Activity as reported by the Spokane Association of Realtors reported closed sales of 184 units during the month, which is down 152 units from closed sales as reported in the December 2010 Market Activity results. This decrease of 152 units represents a 45.2% decrease in units sold as compared to December 2010. In comparison to January 2010 which reported closed sales of 176 units the market is actually up 8 units which equates to a 4.5% increase this year vs. last year. So compared to December 2010 it may look bleak however in actuality we are ahead of 2010's pace.

This past week the National Association of Realtors reported a 12.3% increase in existing home sales for December. Perhaps this is a sign of things to come. Check out the complete article at Pending Home Sales Continue Upward Trend

Despite record low interest rates and plenty of properties to chose from the September Spokane Real Estate market results are in and they are not as encouraging as one would hope. While the low activity makes it difficult on sellers, for buyers there are a wealth of opportunities.
